U.S. Capitol Views from Washington, DC Multifamily Living Spaces

One great thing about living and working in Washington, DC are the views whether national monuments, the Potomac River, parks, skylines or historic buildings.  My work as an architectural photographer has given me the privilege of photographing many great commercial and residential locations with wonderful views.  Whenever I find a view I work very hard to incorporate it into my professional photography.  Here are several examples of views of the U.S. Capitol from multifamily living spaces in Washington, DC.

Day and Night Property Photography Comparison

Thought I'd share examples of several professional projects I shot in both daylight and night light.  While the daytime view reveals construction, colors and features in clear detail, there is a charm about night and dusk shots that gets much attention. Whenever possible I give my clients one version of each so they can choose the best fit for their residential and commercial property marketing, portfolio or awards submission needs.
Below are four examples of day and night views of the same subject plus one image that combines both day and night.  All photography © Todd A. Smith Photography

Below is my example of day and night photography combined into one image.  This requires advanced planning to select the view and camera position.  Much time is needed to complete the shot since the camera must stay in the exact position all day and into night.

Historic Louis Sullivan Farmers and Merchants Union Bank Photography by Todd A. Smith

Recently I photographed the interior of famed architect Louis Sullivan's last "Jewel Box" bank, the Farmers and Merchants Union Bank in Columbus, WI.  Photography was during normal banking hours so I used a minimum of equipment and light.
